Maps Can Be Racist - SARN Minis #53 Transcript
Hello, I'm Sharon Hurley Hall. Welcome to the Sharon's Anti-Racism Newsletter podcast. Today I'm considering the question of maps and racism.
I love old maps. Those representations of how people saw the known world - and the unknown world - are pretty telling. As the start, they needed to use their imagination, which no doubt accounts for the many maps with “here there be dragons” once you got past Europe. And with "terra incognita" in certain places.
